This entry will help you to prepare and run your VholdR for the first time. Follow the steps as they are listed and then have fun!
1. Open the rear door of your VholdR by pushing upwards with your thumb and then lowering the door like a drawbridge.
2. Insert the microSD card in the card slot following the alignment icon printed on the casing
3. Insert the battery into its slot and then position the latch over it to hold it in place.
4. Close the rear door (opposite action of #1)
5. Press and HOLD the rear button marked power for 2 second or until you see the front or rear lights come on.
6. Wait for the unit to boot completely, it will beep when it’s done.
7. Slide the top switch forward to begin recording (it will beep when it starts)
8. To stop recording slide the top switch backward (it will double beep when it stops).
9. To power down, press and hold the rear button for two seconds.

Q How do I charge my Vholdr Helmet Camera?
This section explains how to connect your VholdR to your computer and connect it to VholdR desktop.
Connecting:
1. Power up your VholdR
2. Launch the VholdR desktop application
3. Connect the USB cable between the VholdR and your computer
Note: Wait until the unit has booted completely before connecting the USB
4. VholdR desktop should automatically recognize your VholdR
Note: If you get a popup message from Windows asking what action to take, choose, do nothing.
5. Your VholdR will be labeled as a drive in the top left hand window (probably something like E: or F:)
Charging:
- The Vholdr will charge via the USB cable. You can charge in either the on or off position.
- The battery indicator light will turn green when the battery has a full charge. (note: the battery indicator currently stays red all the time, we will issue a firmware update to resolve this issue. For now, as a rule of thumb, the battery should be fully charged in 3-4 hours).
Q. How do I mount my Vholdr Camera?
To be honest, mounting is pretty easy, but we wrote a guide for it anyways so you can do it perfectly the first time.
1. The first step is to mount the base to your helmet, flat or slightly curved surface.
2. Clean off your surface with something like a wet wipe and then let it dry.
3. Remove the cover on the adhesive pad and then stick the base to your surface.
Note: press firmly and for best results let sit overnight to cure.
4. Slide your camera onto the rails
Note: make sure the notches on the rails are closest to the rear of the camera
5. To adjust the vertical position of your mount you can detach the rails from the base of the mount. To do so simply hold down the base and pull the unit and rails away and the Velcro will detach. For best results and longevity it is best to not pull straight but to apply pressure out from the rear half.
Q. How to Use the Laser Guidance?
This entry will explain how to use the DualSight laser alignment guide and memory and battery check functions.
1. The VholdR must be powered on.
2. The function works best when the VholdR is recording, but can be activated in either the start or stop position.
3. To activate the laser/check function, press the On button on the rear door.
Note: do not hold the On button down as that will power down your VholdR.
4. The lasers and check function will show for 3 seconds.
Lasers:
1. The lasers are designed to give you an idea of where you will be shooting.
2. For best results have your VholdR mounted, be in your athletic/riding position and then press the rear button.
3. If you are outdoors the easiest way to see the lasers is to extend your hand out in front of you as far as you can to find the lasers.
4. Your lasers should make a straight horizontal line and be pointing out towards the object you want to shoot or the horizon.
5. Adjusting the horizon can be done by rotating the lens. Turn the front portion of your VholdR lens to the left or right to position the lasers in a horizontal line.
Note: there is a limit of just over 90 degrees so if you reach that point its best not to keep trying to rotate your lens.
Additional Note: Do NOT try to perform lasik surgery or shoot the lasers into anyone’s eyes for any reason, as they are strong and they will MESS YOU UP!
Check Function:
- 1. When the laser/check function is activated the rear lights on your VholdR will turn on.
- 2. The lights have three colors:
- Green = your battery/SD is above/below 66% capacity
- Yellow = your battery/SD is above/below 33% capacity

Red = your battery/SD is below/above 33% capacity.

Blinking red lights for either part indicates that the unit cannot record because the battery is about to die, or the SD card is full or not inserted. |
